On June 11th, CVC’s Francisca Bogdan attended the Manhattan Edit Workshop’s Sight, Sound & Story event. The event brought together the editing community to celebrate the art of visual storytelling. The symposium featured panels led by the best editors in the business; those who worked on modern classics, as well as those who currently work on today’s best shows.

Pictured above, Fran meets Anne V. Coates ACE, editor of acclaimed films such as Lawrence of Arabia and The Elephant Man. The panels discusses a wide range of topics surrounding the world of post-production, including VFX, editing, and storytelling. The workshop was an inspiring and great learning experience.

The Reverend Katherine Silvan’s Many Translations is a fast paced, thought provoking, and intriguingly entertaining lecture that forces listeners to dig into their own beliefs and biases to confront the roots of intolerance.

Citing everything from Descartes to Mother Teresa, from the Bible to the Torah to the Quran, Silvan targets the thoughts, associations, and beliefs that we derive our fundamental personalities from, and challenges listeners to examine them for what they are. She encourages her audience to take advantage of the neuroplasticity of their brains; to let them be the authors of their own beliefs, and rewrite the programming that their upbringing, their families, and society has drilled into them.

Interfaith is her solution—embracing a personal commitment to be a force for love in the world, and to change the world by first changing yourself. An excerpt from the lecture, which we were fortunate enough to shoot, is above. Enjoy it, be entertained, and enlightened!

Whether you want to reach out to employees, sell to clients, raise funds for charity, or use video to enhance your website, Creative Video Corporation (CVC) can find the perfect solution for your particular goals and budget.

Since their founding in 1997 by Francisca Bogdan, CVC has won many industry awards. But none of the awards are as important to them as the praise they receive from their clients. The team immerses themselves into their clients' culture and approaches projects as if they are a part of the organization to fully understand their message and ensure metrics are met.

Having good ideas and executing them well are important, but so is having an easy and positive experience. CVC can handle all aspects of a project, guiding the way through pre-production logistics, scripting, shooting on location and in the studio, all the way through editing and post production.

Bogdan believes that creating a strong script prior to beginning production is the key to ensuring a company's unique value proposition is communicated. She adds, "The final product should be persuasive, entertaining, and informative as well as actionable." ...
